Set : OSPI/WSAC Wednesday Webinars for School Counselors

During the 2018-19 school year, the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) will co-host a series of webinars for school counselors. Over the course of the year, we will provide relevant and timely information related to college readiness and financial aid, including specific policy changes and useful tools and resources to help you support students.

Webinars take place monthly, always on a Wednesday, from 10:30 – 11:30 AM.

2018-19 Webinars 

October 3 - Financial Aid Updates to the FAFSA & WASFA and Residency Standards (90 min) (youtube)

This presentation focuses on the launch of the new FAFSA and WASFA as well as updated policies relating to financial aid eligibility. 

November 7 - After High School Application Process (youtube)

This presentation highlights postsecondary pathways, their application processes, and student support strategies. We also discuss pathways beyond the traditional 2- and 4-year colleges 

December 5 - Mental Health & Social/Emotional Resources (youtube)

This presentation will cover a range of topics supporting the mental health of staff and students. We discuss self-care for staff, resources and implementation ideas for supporting students, and opportunities around improving systems to support the mental health of our those in our school communities.
